How to Verify a WAEC Result

Verification confirms that a WAEC result is genuine. It does not show you your grades — that is a different PIN. Verification is done on verify.waeconline.org.ng.

Make sure this is what you need

Most people who land here want their grades, not a verification. If that is you, buy a WAEC scratch card for ₦5,640 instead and follow how to check your WAEC result. Keep reading only if somebody has asked you to prove a result is real.

What you need before you start

Steps

  1. Confirm who is paying. If the institution is running the verification itself, you do not need to buy anything.
  2. Buy the verification PIN. It arrives on screen and by email as soon as your payment clears.
  3. Open verify.waeconline.org.ng.
  4. Choose the route that matches you — candidate, institution or employer.
  5. Enter the candidate details the form asks for.
  6. Enter the verification PIN and submit.
  7. Save or print what comes back. That is the document the requesting body wants.

Using it for an NYSC data correction

NYSC handles the correction on its own portal. The verification gives them a WAEC-sourced record to correct against, so run the verification first and have the output ready before you start the NYSC step. Follow the exact instruction NYSC gave you — theirs governs, not ours.

What verification cannot do

It reports what WAEC holds. It cannot change a grade, upgrade a result, release a withheld one, or add a subject. Anybody offering that is lying to you, whatever they charge.

Awajis Pay is an independent reseller. We are not WAEC and we do not run the verification portal — we sell the PIN it asks for.

Questions people ask

Is verification the same as checking my result?
No. Checking shows you your own grades and needs a scratch card (₦5,640). Verification proves to somebody else that those grades are real, and needs a verification PIN (₦5,850). They are different products at different prices.
Why does NYSC ask for this?
When your WAEC data has to be confirmed or corrected during NYSC registration — a date of birth that does not match, for instance — the correction is made against a verified WAEC record. The verification is what produces that record.
Do I pay, or does the institution?
Either, depending on who is doing the verification. Some institutions run and pay for it themselves; others ask the candidate to supply a PIN. Ask whoever requested it before you buy, so nobody pays twice.
Will verification release a withheld result?
No. A withheld or seized result is between the candidate and WAEC. Verification only reports what WAEC already holds, and no PIN sold by anyone changes that.
How fast does the PIN arrive?
On your order page within seconds of payment clearing, and by email at the same time.
