Result Checker PIN Not Working? Fixes

Most PIN errors have one of six causes. Find yours below.

The PIN or serial number is invalid

The portal is telling you the characters you entered do not match a real PIN. This is almost always a typing mistake — 0 and O, 1 and I, look alike on a phone screen.

Do this: retype it slowly from your order confirmation, one character at a time. If it still fails, message us on WhatsApp with your order reference.

The checks are exhausted

Each PIN allows a fixed number of checks — five, on WAEC and NECO. Once used up, the portal will not accept that PIN again, even if it worked before.

Do this: buy a new PIN. There is no way to add checks to a used-up PIN.

Wrong exam year or exam type

The portal matches your PIN against the exam year and exam type you select. Pick the wrong one — for example the current year instead of the year you sat the exam, or GCE instead of WASSCE School Candidate — and a correct PIN will still fail.

Do this: confirm the year and type against your original registration slip, then try again.

Wrong exam number format

Exam numbers follow a fixed format with no spaces and specific digit counts. A missing digit or an extra space stops the portal from finding your record.

Do this: copy the exam number directly from your registration slip rather than typing it from memory.

The result is withheld by the exam body

Sometimes a PIN works correctly and the portal responds, but the result itself is withheld or under investigation. This is a decision made by the exam body, not related to the PIN.

Do this: a withheld or seized result is between the candidate and the exam body. A new PIN will not fix it — contact the exam body directly about the status of your result.

The PIN was bought from someone else

We can only check and act on PINs we sold. If you bought a PIN from another seller, agent, or cyber café and it does not work, we have no order record to verify it against.

Do this: go back to whoever sold you the PIN. If you bought from Awajis Pay, message us with your order reference.

Awajis Pay is an independent reseller. We are not WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or NBAIS, and we cannot change, upgrade or release a result.

Questions people ask

My PIN says invalid but I am sure I typed it right. What now?
Zoom in and re-check each character against your order — 0/O and 1/I/l are the usual mix-ups. If it still fails after a careful retype, message us with your order reference.
I have checks left but the portal still refuses my PIN. Why?
This usually means the exam year, exam type, or exam number does not match what the PIN expects. Recheck all three before assuming the PIN itself is broken.
Can you get my withheld result released?
No. A withheld or seized result is a decision made by the exam body, not by us. We cannot appeal it, speed it up, or issue a PIN that overrides it.
I bought a PIN from someone else and it does not work. Can Awajis Pay fix it?
Only if you bought it from Awajis Pay — we can only verify and act on our own orders. For a PIN bought elsewhere, go back to that seller.
How do I get a refund for a PIN that will not work?
See our refund policy. A genuinely invalid PIN we sold you is replaced or refunded after we check with the supplier.
